After the Spiritualized post, I don’t feel so gay posting a picture of this dude. I see homeboy pretty much every morning on my way to work and he always seemed familiar. I thought maybe I had seen him at a beard/mustache competition somewhere down the line. It turns out he was familiar to me because he was featured in the pages of GQ (where this photo is from). This puts him in the list of “People I Am Ashamed To Know Who They Are” along with the likes of Nick Zinner and a whole fuckload of Austin ex-patriots. Anyhoo, his name is Philip Crangi, and dude is a jewelry designer. I can tell you, judging by this morning, that his beard is way more ferocious than pictured here. Anyway, despite him sort of looking like a hipster jerk in this photo (deep-v, nautical references), I think he should be asked to compete in next years beard-off, or perhaps be a judge, or you should have him forge some sort of misprint-themed necklace, like a wrought-iron turd or something. As far as pointless posts go, I think I have set a standard here by which all pointlessness should be measured.
